What is EcoChef Homes?
- EcoChef Homes brings the principles of high-performance commercial kitchens into the residential environment.
- Through testing, analysis, documentation review, and evaluation, EcoChef Homes assesses residential kitchens and the products, equipment, design strategies, and services that support them against established EcoChef Homes certification standards.
- The program considers the relationship between energy use, equipment performance, ventilation, indoor environmental quality, water use, kitchen design, operational efficiency, durability, and the health and comfort of the people who use the kitchen.

EcoChef Homes evaluates residential kitchen design, layout, equipment selection, ventilation strategies, operational efficiency, and other project characteristics against established certification standards.
Equipment & Products
Kitchen equipment, appliances, products, and related technologies may be evaluated against applicable EcoChef Homes standards for energy efficiency, performance, durability, serviceability, environmental impact, and suitability for high-performance residential kitchens.
